So today was my first official day in Paris. It's been one adventure after another.
As soon as I got off the flight I went to my couch surfers work place to get her keys which she generously trusted to me. I went to her house and dropped off my stuff and off I went to explore the city. I was actually really proud of myself at this point since the streets of Paris were not laid out in perfect perpendicular fashion like the streets of North America. Despite this I found both places without much trouble.
My first stop was the Eiffel tower. I quickly found it using the easy to navigate Parisian subway system. It was amazing! I opted for the cheaper fare and climbed to the 2nd stage.
While walking around taking photos met another couchsurfer Sally from Lebannon. Sally is a journalist who just started her travels yesterday in Europe and is also on a solo backpack trip. We became fast friends and later that night we checked out Notre Dame Cathedral and ate dinner with her host and sister in law (2 different people).
We said goodbye after I realized I still haven't found a couchsurfer host for tomorrow. So I went back to my place and prepared to get to work. But sadly for me my laptop seemed to have suffered a concussions and refuses to boot up. But it did give me a lot of time to chat with my lovely host Corail who works for a art company who builds public artwork installations. In fact they are actually going to build a lamp artwork installation for the Toronto waterfront in 2015 - neat!
Just as I am about to go to sleep Sally messages me on Facebook and told me her host Sofie offered for me to stay at her place for one night. Awesome!
Not having a plan sometimes is hard , but at the same time it allows for natural connections to be made. And isn't that what life is all about? #deep.

Peace from Paris.
I first learned the subway system in Paris. It made Busan's system a breeze to pick up. Seoul's system still hurts my head though...haha!
