Europe planning

The date for my European trip is fast approaching. I think I am really slacking lately on the planning department. I really didn't do any planning till this week and I am suppose to get on a plan next Monday! Like OMG right.

So after sifting through endless amounts of literature online about the train system in Europe and hitchhiking I have really only made some headway in the anxiety department. There is this pass called the Eurorail pass which allows you to travel unlimited for 10 days in the span of 2 month. This was my first choice in terms of getting around Europe since it was cheap (relatively) $550 and allowed me a lot of flexibility in terms of not having to worry about transportation. But the problem is they don't sell it in Europe for non EU residents. They have to mail it to you. Long story short I just ordered it today with express delivery (extra $35). So theoretically it should arrive here on Monday (the day I am suppose to leave).

At one point I was considering hitch hiking across Europe and came upon this service called blablacar which is a carpool service similar to kangaride or amigoexpress. It seems this would be a viable alternative or just straight up hitchhiking in case my pass doesn't arrive in time.

I am also looking for places to stay in Europe. I really want to spend as little as possible and meet locals. So I have decided to do couchsurfing for most places. I have been sending out requests for people in Paris for the past two days. Unfortunately so far I have only got one person who got back to me and said I can stay with her after sending like 10 requests. I am hoping this is because it is a big city and it won't be like that in all the places I visit.

Even though I am stressed I am also excited about Europe. This will be an awesome adventure - I am sure of it!

Peace from Quebec.
