Death in Thailand

Here at the camp, they are renovating a lot of things. They have been trying to put in a walkway to the dormitories for the past 3 weeks. And there is always this one Thai guy who is working on it when we are training. Since we always walk past him, the obligatory head nods and smiles have become a habit.

But two days ago, I found out from my roommate that he passed away (He was only around 30 and seemed to be in perfect health).

I am not saying I knew him really well, but its such a shock to suddenly see one person one day and find out the next day that he died.

Anyways RIP pavement guy.

Peace.

  1. it's crazy isn't it! lives come and go, some paths cross so momentarily, some ends, some stay in parallel. Over the past 2 years, like this experience you have had, I've had many close encounters with deaths of my patients. I think what always comforts me is knowing that perhaps the moment of birth and death are so intertwined that a beginning is an ending, and the ending a new beginning. This pavement guy, his energy remain, in a different form, a different space, to be rejoiced! you will meet that energy again :)
