Lezignan Corbier!

Today is my last night in Lazignan Corbier. There are so many stories from this place I don't even know where to begin. (Take a look at my previous posts which are video logs to see what I mean).

First I guess I should start with Elenore my host. Since these past two days I have really gotten to know her well we have been exchanging stories non stop. She is living with her parents now in LC and working as a hotel receptionist for the moment in Carcassonne. She has a demeanur which immediately puts you at ease. I guess I would compare her to Nathan whom I met in Istanbul. Some people just have this aura or energy I guess. She is planning to go on a trip to discover herself and the world in December in Asia from Thailand to China to South Korea. Speaking of South Korea, her brother is actually there right now on Jeju island. He is a famous juggler (Matthieu Durian) and he has been featured in 5 TV shows by KBS the Korea version of NBC or CBC or Canal+.

Elenore's parents are also very cool. Elenore lives on the bottom floor and her parents live on the top floor. What surprised me was I was going to be sleeping in Elenore's room in and her parents are totally cool with that.

Since we came back last night from her reception job in Carcassonne very late at 7am. She works the night shift. We both slept throughout the day and woke up only around 1pm for me and '4pm for her.

I went out and bought some groceries and stocked up especially on fruits and veggies since I haven't been getting enough of that. I tried a new recipe of combining eggplants with Raclette cheese. It was really really good and so easy to make!

We went for a hike just now and checked out the storm damage from last night and this morning. A part of the road in the city was completely flooded in this morning and the local dam was almost to the breaking point. Whole trees were swept down river to give you a sense of the kind of storm that happened.

Elenore is off to work now. I am going to take it easy for tonight. I am waiting to watch Koh Lanta the French version of Survivor which I have gotten addicted to thanks to Lio and Denis my Belgium friends in La Grau du Roi. And I am going do some more research about tablets probably.

The people in the south really takes Petanque seriously. This guy had a ruler measuring the difference and they were playing at night!

Some fellow travelers I met. The guy in red is a student of my friend in Quebec city! Small world

Peace from Lazignan Corbiers.
