Glasgow last day

I had a really great time in Glasgow these past couple of days. The weather definitely was not in my favour with the constant rain.  But my stay with my long time friend Jen from Toronto, the amazing culture and my performance outweighed the weather by a mile! I definitely rate Glasgow as a city to visit.

So yesterday I toured around the Kelvingroove museum,  Hunterian museum,  Mackintosh house.  Jen had some work to do so it was a solo trip for me.  I really enjoyed the Hunterian museum especially the Roman exhibit. I learned a lot about some of the famous Glasgownians such as Adam Smith, Lord Kelvin of temperature fame.  And of course Hunter who was a midwife doctor in Victorian era and developed loads of information on the subject which medical students still use today.

Prior to going to Glasgow I did not know how powerful and important the Scottish people were to the Enlightenment era.  I definitely did not know Scotland largest city is Glasgow.  After the museum visits I feel like I have solidified some of the famous people such as the father of modern economics etc.

In the evening I tried a pub quiz with Jen and we lost spectacularly in last place.  But it was fun all the same and we learned some new and interesting facts.  Did you know E. Coli is a bacteria?  Or what about the country above Luxembourg? It is Belgium!  Haha.

Finally I am at the bus station now after saying goodbye to Jen this morning.  I will see her again before I leave in Bristol along with 2 other friends.

A really great start to my UK trip so far ☺

Peace from Glasgow.
