Fukuoka the liveable city

We arrived in Fukuoka via the Japan Rail way aka local trains yesterday night.

The journey was not too terrible with only about 5 hours of travel time.  But the walk to the Airbnb place was definitely a trek with our heavy backpacks.

Luckily our accommodations was awesome.  We had a full studio apartment all to ourselves for less than $150 split between the three of us - or about $17 per night.  To put that into perspective a typical hostel would have cost $25 per person every night.

We had a great sleep the first night and explored the city the next morning.  Fukuoka is known for its Ramen so of course we checked out the most famous Ramen place Ichiran Ramen in the Tenjin area.  And also the shops around there.  I gotta say the Ramen definitely is famous for a reason.  The experience was amazing.  The broth they used and the flavors really are rich without a greasy feeling to it.  The atmosphere was interesting as well.  We placed our orders in vending machines first and then handed our tickets to the servers as we sat down in little individual booths to enjoy our Ramen.

We checked out the fireworks festival in the evening near Ohori Park.  It was jam packed with people,  luckily we came early and secured good seats.  We brought a portable speaker and really enriched the experience of not only our wait time bus also the other spectators around us :-)

Finally we finished for the day and headed home to plan our next few days in Fukuoka,  Kobe and Osaka.

Peace from Fukuoka.
