Day 2 update (part 2)

After we finished lunch we headed out at around 10am.

About 3km after we got onto the 4 river bike path again. I am so amazed at the scenery and the newness of it all. It seems that no one ever uses these path because they are so new.

It's quite a rare site to see other cyclists. So when one does pass by the obligatory "hello" are exchanged.

Even though in the morning my soles were hurting. Once we got on the bike they were as good as new.

At 11:15 we pulled into our third telephone booth where we got our third stamp. :)

Around 12:30 we met our first big hill of the trip. It was exhausting but the reward was good. Around 1:25 we pulled into the other side of the mountain and stopped for break at the rest stop for food and snacks.

2:00 - time to hit the road again. But we met another hill and cooled off Korean army style. Pulling the back of our shorts down and keeping the front up in case of passing cars. The breeze feels good on my butt.

2:53 - arrival at top of second hill of the day. The view from here is awesome. I am starting to feel the heat. And am hearing more and more of "I want to go home" from my friends. We are still about 60km away from Daegu right now. And more and more I feel we won't arrive there by tonight. Hoping the rest of the way is all flat roads. Fingers crossed.

3:50 - we are taking a midday break. Finally found a water source. We are at the edge of Hapcheon from the looks of the sign. Still about at least 50km to go to Daegu :(

5:23 - Got our 4th stamp. I think I figured out the pattern now. The stamp areas are always next to a dam and they are all somehow associated with k water. Probably a Korean government infrastructure project name. The inside of the building provided us with free water and ac. Sweet sweet ac.

Oh and I found out my previous updates were wrong. Starting now we have 60km to go to get to daegu. :(

8:00 - Around this time we pulled into a town for dinner. Intestine soup - yum yum. Actually I really didn't like it but we needed food for the road so I finished it all. After consulting with the owners of the restaurant. We decide to keep on going until the next town. And stop for the jimjilbang for the night.

9:30 - Bad news. My front tire blew out as we were going down the side of a road. We were still about 1km away from our destination for the night. Wonseop rode up to look for bike shops to see if they were open while David and I walked our bikes. This part of the night was quite scary because we are on the side of the road and there is no light except the light from my bike. It's pitch dark 70% of the time.

Finally we arrived into town but all the bike shops are closed. The jimjilbang we found also gave us bad news in that they are not open 24/7.

Tomorrow is Sunday and so all the bike shops are either closed or open late. And we are already behind on schedule so we need to leave early. So we decide to patch my bike with Wonseops bike kit. It worked out better than expected. And as a plus I learned how to patch bike tire ruptures.

11:00 - With my tires freshly patched. We found a motel for the night. It's called 나이스 motel. Which is called Nice Motel. Haha I wonder why - until I see the 노래방 singing room below the motel - which is pretty much a prostitution house :)

Anyways we stop here for the night. And did not order any girls in case you are wondering. Unless if you count David posing sexily by the window entertainment - I do not....... Picture attached for reference.

We are about 30km away from our goal for today. But we will leave early tomorrow and try to make up for lost time.

Are MBTI predictors a scam?

I am not a 迷信 person. I want to say that overall I am quite scientific in my thinking and reasoning. That is why I never believe anything to do with astrology, blood types etc. However the MBTI test is science backed... or so I thought.  In the last 3 month since I was hypomanic, I have been down a deep rabbit hole to try to understand myself better.  I recall doing the MBTI test while on a drive to Blue Mountain last year. At the time, my score was INTJ.  Today,  I decided to see if the results still hold up. The results became ENTJ-T.  Finally I decided that maybe just for fun, how does Chatgpt see me?  The prompt I used specifically is: "based on everything i told you so far. ascertain my MBTI. Don't use the chats where I told you I am INTJ"  Again it came back with a different result: ESTP (with unusually strong strategic/reflective traits).  So all that is to say, which one is it? Lols.  I am quite confused myself. To be honest I ha...

Strasbourg encore and dance party!

I arrived in Strasbourg yesterday around 1pm. I saw Michel and Veronique again and it was great. They invited me to a friend's party with "old people" as they called it. I had a great time there and had some really great food! The party guests were really interesting but the best part was the dance floor, the house DJ one of the party guests put on everything from Stromae to Michael Jackson. It was great just dancing around. I have about 2 more days here before heading to Amsterdam and my plane back to Canada. Tomorrow I got a full day going around to the bank and closing my various accounts and tying up loose ends. I wish I took more pictures but I was too busy dancing or enjoying the food haha.  Peace from Strasbourg.

Europe planning

The date for my European trip is fast approaching. I think I am really slacking lately on the planning department. I really didn't do any planning till this week and I am suppose to get on a plan next Monday! Like OMG right. So after sifting through endless amounts of literature online about the train system in Europe and hitchhiking I have really only made some headway in the anxiety department. There is this pass called the Eurorail pass which allows you to travel unlimited for 10 days in the span of 2 month. This was my first choice in terms of getting around Europe since it was cheap (relatively) $550 and allowed me a lot of flexibility in terms of not having to worry about transportation. But the problem is they don't sell it in Europe for non EU residents. They have to mail it to you. Long story short I just ordered it today with express delivery (extra $35). So theoretically it should arrive here on Monday (the day I am suppose to leave). At one point I was considering h...

Published on spotify

I been playing around with Suno AI for music generation recently.  It has helped me process some emotions and events in a creative way. I published the whole album on Spotify in May, 2026.  In the process I learned that you cannot just simply publish songs to Spotify. There is an intricate web of third party middle man who acts as publishers on your behalf.  I don't really have any expectations of making an income with Spotify songs, especially as unpolished as my songs. But they are fun to make and listen to. Publishing it on Spotify has the added benefit of reducing friction for me to listen to my songs. Previously I would have to use a different app to listen to my music.   Here is the link:  https://open.spotify.com/album/5kFlzmaZL1rUNgVP44zmwi?si=FwUWm-lVTc6roishsPJ6tA Peace from Toronto
